Diversity Profile - Executive ASA Randy Roberts
While growing up in the small town of Quincy in west-central Illinois, I had two dreams: I wanted to be a lawyer and I wanted to live in Chicago.

Not only have I realized those dreams, I have had the privilege of serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney for 27 years.  I use the term “privilege” because that is how special I feel it is to be a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.  No other group of lawyers has the unique opportunity that we enjoy on a daily basis to bring justice to our community.  There is no more rewarding experience than to help victims achieve some measure of justice while holding offenders accountable for the crimes that they have committed.

Now, as a an administrator and Director of Continuing Legal Education, I am more removed from the daily activity of the courtroom, but I still have a deep sense of pride when I read or watch stories about the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our prosecutors.
