Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez has opened two Community Justice Centers on Chicago's North and South Sides since taking office in December of 2008. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn recently joined Alvarez at the most recent opening and signed several pieces of legislation that enhance protections for law enforcement officials, victims of domestic violence, and the public.
