In the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, we work hard each day to secure justice for crime victims and to serve as the legal representatives of the nation’s second largest county.  With nearly 900 attorneys, we have the responsibility to prosecute crime and to promote civil protection for the disabled, the elderly and consumers.  We also serve as legal counsel for a county government that is larger than 44 state governments.

While our office performs a variety of vital legal tasks every day, the heart and soul of the Office will always be to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of crime victims.  Crime injures not only the victim, but also the community as a whole, and we know that we cannot repair that harm without the cooperation of all citizens. 

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office will continue to work with all communities to strive to prevent and reduce crime as well as to bring the fullest measure of justice to those who have been victimized.
