State's Attorney Alvarez Swears In New Class

Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez on Monday swore in the first class of Assistant State’s Attorney’s that will join her new administration since she assumed the oath of office last December.

After taking their oaths, the 15 new Assistant State’s Attorney’s were given their assignments in the First Municipal Division, Child Support Enforcement, the Criminal Appeals Division and the Juvenile Justice Bureau.

“Don’t ever forget that the public entrusts us with tremendous power and responsibilities as prosecutors,” Alvarez told the class.  “This job has the potential to be one of the most rewarding and exciting opportunities of your legal careers.”
