FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: A Chicago man was convicted of slashing the throat of a woman with a hunting knife as she walked near a Metra train station in Blue Island in 2005, according to the office of Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez. Vincent Glover, 38 was found guilty of attempted first degree-murder on Nov. 4, after a bench trial before Cook County Judge Luciano Panici. The victim, 23 at time of the incident, received numerous stitches to her throat and hand as a result of the attack. Glover’s next court date is scheduled for Dec. 3 for post trial motions. He faces up to 30 years in prison. .

Woman Near Blue Island Train Station
According to prosecutors, on September 25, 2005, as the victim was walking near the train station on Vermont Street in Blue Island, Glover came up behind the victim, put a knife to her neck and cut her throat. The defendant and the victim struggled, and Glover tried to flee before two witnesses intervened and were able to detain Glover for the police. Police recovered a backpack the defendant was carrying which contained the knife, a mask, plastic bags and electrical tape.
