Among these appointments, Alvarez has tapped 13 minorities for supervisory positions. “These promotions show I’m committed to diversity in hiring for management positions throughout the office,” said Alvarez. “These are all qualified, hard working individuals who are deserving of these appointments”, she added. For the first time in the history of the State’s Attorney’s Office, a woman will lead the Criminal Prosecutions Bureau, the largest division of the office that handles all major criminal cases. Alvarez has promoted Shauna Boliker Andrews, a career prosecutor who formerly headed the State’s Attorney’s Sex Crimes Division, as head of Criminal Prosecutions.
