Prosecutors Secure 25 Year Sentence in Payday Loan Store Shooting

A man charged with a 2010 shooting of a store clerk during the robbery of a Payday Loan Store in Hanover Park pled guilty today and was sentenced to 25 years in prison, according to the Office of Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.

Admise Wilson, 34, of the 7600 block of Bristol Drive, Hanover Park, pled guilty to aggravated battery with a firearm and armed robbery and was sentenced to 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge Thomas Fecarotta.

On October 5, 2010, Wilson entered the Payday Loan Store in the 7400 block of Barrington Road in Hanover Park.  The victim, a 24-year-old store clerk, saw Wilson and recognized him as a regular customer.  As the victim began to input Wilson’s information into the computer, Wilson shot her in the forehead with a .22 caliber handgun.  Wilson also threw a paper shredder at the victim and stood over her looking for movement.  Wilson then took cash from the store’s register and fled the scene.

The victim was able to call 911 and identify Wilson to the dispatcher as the man who shot her.  Wilson was arrested a short time later and also identified by other witnesses who worked in neighboring businesses.  Wilson was found to have $242 in his possession at the time of the arrest and a .22 caliber handgun and ammunition was recovered from his residence.  The victim has since recovered from her injuries.

State’s Attorney Alvarez thanked Assistant State’s Attorneys Michael Gerber and Michael Crowe and the Hanover Park Police Department for their work on this case.
