October 21, 2009State's Attorney Charges State Employee with Bribery
Andrew McKinney, 55, of Chicago, has been charged with bribery and official misconduct following an investigation by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
McKinney is employed as a Program Representative in the Chicago Heights office of the Department of Employment Security. He was arrested by investigators Tuesday in the parking lot of the office after allegedly accepting a bribe in an undercover investigation.
According to prosecutors, the investigation began after police received a complaint from an individual from whom McKinney had requested a bribe. Investigators then conducted an undercover sting and arrested McKinney after he accepted a bribe from an individual that he believed was seeking benefits.
