State's Attorney Devine Honors Winners of Anti-Drug Poster Contest

First Assistant State's Attorney Robert Milan will be joined by ABC 7 Sports Anchor and Reporter Jim Rose, to honor the winners of State's Attorney Richard A. Devine's 2005 Anti-Drug Poster Contest in a ceremony at 2:00 p.m. today in the Great Hall of the Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier, 700 E. Grand Ave.

The annual contest is open to all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in Cook County. The winning posters will be exhibited in the Great Hall on the day of the ceremony and featured in the 2006 Anti-Drug calendar, which is distributed to elementary schools throughout the county as a tool for drug prevention.

The winners of the sixth grade contest are: Mary Marsh, George W. Curtis School, Chicago; Darcy Peters, St. Robert Bellarmine School, Chicago; Melissa Schick, St. Gerald School, Oak Lawn; and Rachel Sinon, Northwest Elementary School, Evergreen Park.

The winners of the seventh grade contest are: Abriana Anderson, Calvary Academy, South Holland; Christine Puchalski, St. Gerald School, Oak Lawn; Marta Reyes, Gallistel Language Academy Branch, Chicago; Clare Teeling, St. Gerald School, Oak Lawn; and Raquel Varela, Calvary Academy, South Holland.

The winners of the eighth grade contest are: Victor Ivanov, Hawthorne Scholastic Academy, Chicago; Gina Keleher, Central Junior High School, Evergreen Park; Jeffery Kilgore, Calvary Academy, South Holland; and Ashley Nowdomski, St. Gerald School, Oak Lawn.

Each winner will receive a $50 savings bond donated by Midwest Bank & Trust Company, tickets to a Chicago Cubs and White Sox game, art supplies donated by Mead Products and a "Say No to Drugs" T-Shirt.
