2005 Arson Award Winners Honored
Cook County State's Attorney Richard A. Devine will
host the Illinois Arson Awards, given by The Illinois
Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention, at 10:00 a.m.
today in the Michael J. Angarola Library on the12th
floor of the Criminal Courts Building, 2650 S. California.
The awards will be given to 26 individuals, including
15 civilians, nine officials, one assistant state's
attorney, and one researcher. The awards are given to
individuals who have provided information on cases that
have led to successful prosecutions and suppression
of arson in Illinois.
The winners who were nominated by the Cook County State's
Attorney's Office include civilians William Alston;
Annie Garner, and her two daughters, Valerie and Tammie
Garner; Chicago Fire Department Fire Marshal Timothy
Corcoran and Fire Investigator Waldemar Wojt; and Senior
Special Agent John Malooly of the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco & Firearms.

with state and local authorities in the investigation
