State's Attorney To Give Commencement Address at Chicago Military Academy - Bronzeville

State’s Attorney Richard A. Devine will give the 2006 Commencement Address to graduates of Chicago Military Academy- Bronzeville, at 4:00 p.m. June 13, 2006 at the Illinois Institute of Technology, 3300 S. Federal St.

Chicago Military Academy- Bronzeville, located at 3519 S. Giles Ave., was adopted by the Cook County States Attorney’s Office through the Chicago Public School’s Futures Exchange Program. This program, formerly known as the “Adopt a School” Program, pairs organizations and businesses to local schools. Participants encourage their employees and members to organize volunteer activities with students. They are also eligible to participate in the “Principal for a Day” program.

Last year C.C.S.A.O. employees helped students organize a mock trial team. This year, in addition to the mock trial team, employees plan to participate in career fairs and help students apply for internships with the State’s Attorney’s Office.

“Our employees have benefited from this program as much as the students have,” said Devine. “I strongly encourage all those able to participate in this program to do so.”

In his address, Devine will encourage students to stick to their principles and to be an example to the community as they enter the adult world.
