Recently, Brian Moran has worked for the Orrick-business law firm. As an attorney at Orrick, Moran meticulously used his exhaustive experience and connections in the state Attorney General’s Office to help several corporate clients. Notably, in that role, he advised Fortune 100 companies, tech-firms, and banks that were confronting regulatory and legal investigations. U.S. Attorney Moran has extensive experience in public service at both Kitsap County Prosecutor’s Office and Washington State Office of Attorney General. In Kitsap County, Moran has served as deputy prosecuting attorney.
Previously, Moran had served as Chief Deputy Attorney General for almost 15 years, under both Democrat Christine Gregoire and Republican Rob McKenn, when they both were state’s attorney general. He managed over 500 attorneys and 27 legal divisions of Washington State Attorney General’s Office. As Chief Deputy, Moran played a prominent role and shaped legal strategy in numerous areas like privacy and data breach investigations, and consumer protection.
Brian Moran has also served as a legal advisor and a key partner for state and local law enforcement. Before he was selected as Chief Deputy, Moran was serving in Washington State Attorney General’s Office as Chief Criminal Prosecutor. In that role, Moran facilitated almost 39 county prosecuting attorneys’ offices in Washington. With the help of his dedicated staff, Moran pursued criminal cases as well as the civil commitment of predators who were convicted with sexually violent offenses.
Before working with the Attorney General of Washington State, Brian Moran served Kitsap County Prosecutor’s Office as Senior Deputy Prosecutor. Besides, Moran’s extensive trial experience includes prosecuting various white-collar fraud cases, high profile murder cases, as well as environmental crimes.

Brian T. Moran received his Bachelor’s Degree from Middlebury College and JD (Juris Doctor) from Seattle University School of Law.
