Bryan Schroeder states attorney for the district of Alaska

Bryan D. Schroder is the United States Attorney for the District of Alaska for the U.S. Department of Justice. He is a government official and an American attorney.

Bryan Douglas Schroder looks after the District of Alaska, which has its staffed offices located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau. There are 93 U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Schroder was also the Acting Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska, from March 2017 to November 2017. He then took over as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Alaska. The position was before held by Karen Loeffler, who was the first female U.S. Attorney for the District of Alaska.

 

Law Career

Bryan D. Schroder has served the USAO, District of Alaska, since the year 2005. He joined the U.S. Attorney initially in the role of the Assistant U.S. Attorney. Schroder has handled the prosecution of widespread cases of violent criminalities, narcotic dealings, fraud cases, gun and environmental crimes, tax evasion, fisheries, and wildlife felonies.

Amongst his noteworthy trials were United States v. Wells, United States v. Brandner, and United States v. Avery.

Bryan D. Schroder has served as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division. He was the anti-terrorism prosecutor and District Ethics adviser.

For twenty-four years between 1981 to 2005, Schroder served in the United States Coast Guard in Seattle, Long Beach, California, and San Diego. He also was a judge advocate in Juneau, Anchorage, Miami, New York, and Colorado Springs. He got retired as a captain.

In Seattle, Washington, Bryan D. Schroder was the Deck Watch Officer and Combat Information Center Officer for the USCGC Boutwell.

 

Schroder as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney

Bryan D. Schroder has also been a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in USAO, Anchorage, Alaska. He worked for the 7th Coast Guard District Legal Office based in Miami, Florida, as the Staff Judge Advocate and Principal Assistant District Legal Office. At the 17th Coast Guard District Legal Office in Juneau, AK, Schroder was appointed as the Principal Assistant District Legal Officer.

Schroder was also a Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the United States Northern Command, Colorado Springs, CO. He was also a Crime Investigator in Southwest Region Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force based in San Diego, CA.

During his tenure at the 17th Coast Guard District Legal Office, he fulfilled the role of a Coast Guard’s Collateral Duty Special Court-Martial Judge too. Bryan D. Schroder worked as the Political Advisor for the United States mission to the UN, New York.

 

Academic Background

Bryan Schroder joined the United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, Connecticut, in the year 1977. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Government degree from there in the year 1981.

He received J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, Seattle, Washington, in the year 1991.

 

Awards

Bryan D. Schroder is an Eagle Scout (with Bronze Palm), which is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).
