Gretchen C.F. Shappert passed the bar exam for North Carolina state in 1980. Over the years, she made her name by working on many high-profile cases. She held the office as the Assistant U.S. Attorney between 1990 and 2004. Later, she moved on to become the Attorney for North Carolina’s Western District from 2004 to 2009. After her resignation, she joined EOUSA (Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys) as Assistant Director. She headed departments for Native Indian tribes and monitored violent and cybercrimes in the region.
