Herdman has prosecuted many crimes in the various capacities and positions he held during his career. But his most praiseworthy trial was that of the homegrown terror cell supporting al Qaeda. Another highlight of his career was being part of the team that prosecuted five self-proclaimed convicted anarchists. These criminals got caught and prosecuted for their attempted use of explosives on the Cleveland area bridge.

Role in the Community

The current United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, Justin Herdman, always knew what he wanted. His goal was clear from the beginning, and he tried to fight the criminals who had oppressed others for a long time. When Herdman got the chance, he expedited the prosecutions of violent crimes, drug trafficking, and illegal immigrants. He also looked into reforming the local police department to keep them from violating civil rights and using excessive force.

The U.S. Attorney believes in all the causes that bring peace. One cause that is close to the Attorney’s heart is child safety from firearms. He had joined others to launch the “Project ChildSafe Cleveland” to keep the little ones safe from the guns at home.

During his oath ceremony, Herdman mentioned his excitement to seek justice on behalf of the people of Northern Ohio. He continues to fight against the opioid epidemic and violent crimes in Ohio to maintain peace in the counties.
