Scott C. Blader took the matter of his career into his own hands and started his private practice as an associate attorney the same year he graduated. At Blader Law Office, most of his work focused on criminal litigation. With eight years of experience, Blader took the position of District Attorney in Waushara County District Attorney’s Office in 2007.
He held this position for ten years before President Donald Trump nominated him for the position of U.S. Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin on August 3, 2017. Later the same year, the Senate confirmed his appointment.

Education
A receiver of many accolades, Scott C. Blader, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, was born in 1974. Blader pursued his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1996. Scott C. Blader then began his pursuit of justice by attaining his law degree from the Marquette University School of Law in 1999.
Impact on the Community
In his current position, Scott C. Blader directs a team of 22 lawyers and 31 support staff in the Madison Court office. Under Blader’s supervision, the court prosecutes federal crimes. Before his current job, Blader was a District Attorney and prosecuted many reprobates involved with felony and misdemeanor. He also assisted in the creation and development of various innovative and new-fangled ideas that made the court’s work more efficient.
Scott C. Blader was part of the team that created and implemented the first-of-its-kind drug treatment court in Waushara County. Blader was also behind the establishment of the Non-Violent Offender Diversion Program. This made the court’s work much more effective in convicting non-violent offenders.
At the moment, Blader’s focus and attention as a U.S. Attorney is on Wisconsin’s juvenile prison system. While the project initiated before Blader, he takes the task of investigating child negligence, prisoner abuse, and all kinds of mistreatment of minors very seriously.
Blader believes that any kind of possible crimes at the state’s juvenile detention facility needs to be eliminated. Additionally, Blader pays special attention to the crimes committed against children. Earlier in 2020, Scott C. Blader unsealed indictment charges of Daniel Pegg. He was the superintendent of the Altoona School District, condemned with sex trafficking of a minor and child pornography.
Achievements
- Prosecutor of the Year
Blader’s high caliber work received recognition and praise several times. The Wisconsin District Attorneys Association named Blader Wisconsin’s Prosecutor of the Year in 2015. A year before that, the Wisconsin Association of Homicide Investigators handed off the Prosecutor of the Year title to Blader.
Blader’s approach toward the judicial system is refreshing as he seeks to develop a solution to the long-running problems. The enhanced and improved methods of prosecuting crimes and convicting criminals make the process quicker and impossible for criminals to escape the clutches of law.
Amidst all his tasks and duties, Blader pays attention to the safety and wellbeing of minors of the Western District of Wisconsin. His continuous work towards providing the safest living conditions for underage citizens and bringing them justice ensures a better future for Wisconsin.
