Shawn N. Anderson
Shawn N. Anderson is the U.S. Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands for the United States Department of Justice. He is an American attorney with a profound experience of cases both in state and federal courts.
Anderson was reappointed for the post of the chief federal law enforcement officer of the District by Jefferson “Jeff” Beauregard Sessions III, the Attorney General of the United States. He swore as the chief federal law enforcement officer of the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands on January 4, 2018. He took the oath from the Chief Judge, Frances Tydingco-Gatewood. The post will be served by him for the period of 120 days or till the time a President’s nomination is confirmed by the United States Senate. Alicia Limtiaco was serving the post earlier.

Law Career
Anderson’s federal and state court experiences include trials of several murder and abduction cases, criminalities against children, drug trafficking, and white-collar cases. He has also handled violent crime cases.
Association with U.S. Department of Justice
Anderson has a long-term association with the United States Attorney Office. He was the Acting United States Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands from March 2017 to January 2018.
He was also a federal prosecutor for the United States DOJ. He has served this post since the year 2003.
During his service days with the Department of Justice, Anderson has held the post of Resident Legal Advisor for their Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance, and Training in Iraq offices of Baghdad and Karbala. He has been the Branch Office Supervisor for the Eastern District of Washington.
Anderson has also served the posts of a criminal chief and First Assistant United States Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
He is currently associated as a member of two subcommittees of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committees, the Servicemembers and Veterans Rights Subcommittee and the Subcommittee for Terrorism and National Security.
He worked as a trainer for Guam, Oregon, and Saipan attorneys and law enforcement. He also imparted training to Washington and South Carolina attorneys. Anderson even handled the training of those in overseas countries like Bangladesh, the Federated States of Micronesia, Iraq, and the Marshall Islands.
Education
Shawn N. Anderson joined the Oregon State University for his undergraduate degree. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from there. Anderson earned his Juris Doctor from the Willamette University College of Law, Salem, Oregon.
