In 2007, Mr. Garrison decided to leave the duty and return to Missouri with his family. That is when he was hired as a federal prosecutor by the US Attorney for the Western District of Missouri. His focus was on large-scale international and interstate drug trafficking, criminal violence, firearm offenses, illegal immigration, tax evasion, and sex crimes. Before getting appointed as the US Attorney, he was serving at the Springfield office of the district as the Assistant US Attorney (AUSA).
Upon getting appointed as the US Attorney, Time Garrison was certain to deal with everything, from illegal ginseng harvesting to tax fraud within the Western District of Missouri. He used to declare himself as the ‘blue-collar prosecutor’ whose focus is on drug trafficking and violent crimes.
Mr. Garrison earned his commission as an officer right after completing his graduation from Marine Corps Officer Candidates School and got into the responsibilities of a military prosecutor in 2003. It was because of his military career that he was sent to various duty stations, including Iraq, East Coast, and West Coast.
Although Mr. Garrison was no longer in the military, he was still serving in the Marine Corps Reserves. He was deployed to Helmand Province of Afghanistan in 2014 to oversee the matters as the Chief of Operational Law. When he returned to the United States, he made efforts on military criminal justice policy and legislation at Marine Corps Headquarters, followed by securing the position of Deputy Legal Counsel under the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff. Currently, he is the Associate Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Defense for International Affairs.
As a distinguished and intelligent graduate of the Command and Staff College and the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, Mr. Garrison was always in highlight for several reasons. He attended Drury University for his graduation magna cum laude in political science while his MPA (Master of Public Administration) and law degrees were from the University of Missouri.
As a lieutenant colonel, Mr. Garrison secured the following medals:
- Combat Action Ribbon
- Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medals
- The Meritorious Service Medal
- The Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal
- Trial advocacy award Army JAG School
Other than that, he received awards from the Missouri Bar Foundation in recognition of his incredible advocacy in the US Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the Legal Center and School of the Army Judge Advocate General.
